Australian Surf Lifesaving pictures from
the book SURF CLUB by Craig Golding.
The beach is an environment that many Australians, and in particular the Lifesaver, have a special affinity with. It is a place
they are drawn to by the endless energy of its oceans,a place that is a vital part of their life.
On beaches around Australia from September till April, Lifesavers, who are proficient in their lifesaving awards, and who have
completed the required number of hours on patrol duty, participate in competitions ranging from interclub events to the national championships.
The aim of these competitions are to continually develop and demonstrate their lifesaving skills, while providing safe beaches and aquatic environments throughout Australia.
